Geli Foods is a foods processing company operating in
Iponan, Cagayan de Oro City, Philippines producing dairy products specializing
in fermented milk such as yogurt and frozen yogurt, and other milk products such as pasteurized milk,
cheese and butter.
It started in 2012 as
a home-based processing operation using kitchen utensils to set up a bain-marie
method. In 2016, it moved out to its current location so government permits can
be processed and in 2018, Geli Foods was issued with Philippine Food and Drug
Administration License to Operate as a Food Manufacturer. It is equipped with updated
laboratory equipment that can check and monitor milk quality.
An intervention from Department of Science and Technology’s
Small Enterprise Technology Upgrading Program (DOST-SETUP) transformed the
kitchen utensils to brand new dairy processing equipment. Locally-fabricated
batch pasteurizers were installed coupled with filling and sealing machines thus
resulting to improved product quality and increased production volume capacity.
Entrepreneurship trainings provided by the Department of Trade and Industry thru
its Kapatid Mentor Me (KMME) Program helped Geli Foods strengthened its
organization and boost its marketing operation. National Dairy Authority provided technical
and marketing support to advance dairy consumption awareness of the local dairy
industry.
Currently, Geli Foods supplies supermarkets and hotels in Cagayan
de Oro, Cebu, Iligan, Valencia, Butuan and Tandag City. It is also operating
its online shop in that provides delivery services Cagayan de Oro at www.gelifoods.com, www.geliyogurt.com, www.gelifoods.ecwid.com and www.fruitsandyogurtcreations.com.
